A wealth of information is available on the Web site of the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI). First-time visitors could spend hours making their way through all of the useful tools and resources. To make the site easily accessible and relevant to students, STTI has created Student Central, a section designed to welcome and orient students to the site.
To access the new section, click on “Student Central” in the navigation column on the left side of the Web site’s home page, or go to www.nursingsociety.org/student. There, students will find a thoughtfully edited selection of resources, including 1) career advice (job postings, access to CareerMap and advisers who answer questions on a variety of topics); 2) the Virginia Henderson International Nursing Library (research conference and study abstracts, as well as research tools available through CINAHL); 3) Nursing Knowledge International (affordable nursing products, and links to nursing newsletters and resources); 4) ways to get connected (STTI’s chapter directory and links to online discussion forums and communities); 5) official STTI mission and vision statements, plus honor society position
papers, resource papers and white papers, and 6) free stuff (continuing education and honor society publications). Students also can access a downloadable Resource Guide and video clips about the honor society through the new section.
Chapter officers and faculty members: Encourage students to visit this site and take advantage of its useful resources. A print version of the downloadable Resources Guide is available to chapters and can be purchased through the online Chapter Print-On-Demand Ordering System, accessible via the Officers Only page (under Chapter Information).
